Who we are?

With over 30 years of experience, Steve Benton Transport is a well-established and respected haulage company based in Birmingham. Operating a modern fleet of more than 50 vehicles, we proudly serve customers across the UK and Europe with reliable, cost-effective logistics solutions.

We are fully FORS Bronze accredited, DVS compliant, and rated Green under the OCRS scheme, demonstrating our strong commitment to safety, compliance, and high-quality service.

Our History

1992 – 1998

Steve Benton Transport was founded in 1992 with just one lorry, a desk, and a phone. Operating from a small yard in Nechells, Birmingham, Steve began the business with the support of industry friends and his wife Jackie. It was the start of a journey rooted in hard work, passion, and strong relationships.

1998 – 2009

By 1998, the company had grown to a fleet of 12 trucks and relocated to its current base in Garretts Green. Over the following decade, the business expanded steadily, building a reputation for reliability and competitive pricing. Despite facing significant industry challenges, including the 2009 recession, Steve Benton Transport stayed the course.

2010 – 2020

The company continued to grow through the 2010s, investing in newer vehicles, technology, and compliance standards. Our services expanded to cover the whole of the UK and Europe, with a larger fleet and broader capabilities, including specialist trailers and time-sensitive deliveries.

2020 – Now

By 2025, we operate a fleet of over 50 vehicles, including 40 articulated lorries and a mix of rigids and vans. Steve’s children, Hayley and Oliver, have joined the business – Hayley as a certified Transport Manager and Class 2 driver, and Oliver as a Class 1 driver, who also helps out from time to time with the driving. With loyal staff and valued clients, we continue to move forward with confidence and a commitment to excellence. Most of our team have been with the company for over 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication.
